Ashley Action for Youth

Ashley’s Youth Club has been running since May 2009, and meets every 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at the Ashley Pavilion from 7.15 to 8.45 p.m.  The Youth Club is open to Ashley residents aged 9 to 16 years old.  The entrance fee is £1.00 per person and there is a small charge for tuck shop items purchased e.g. soft drinks, crisps, etc.

The Ashley Youth Club has had great interest from the members. We have had many successful sessions including a Karaoke evening – which had 18 attendees; a Halloween Party which included a fancy dress competition; and a Christmas Party which also included a fancy dress competition and party games.  With the lighter nights on their way, we will be playing Rounders, Cricket, and Football, outside on the playing field.

The Youth Club is run by a team of 5 volunteers who meet regularly to plan the Youth Club sessions.

On July 3rd 2010, the Youth Club were involved in the Ashley Village Fete, and a third of the funds raised at the Fete were donated to Ashley Action for Youth. 

This year’s Fete on 2nd July 2011, will also be supported by the Youth Club. The Youth Club members will be actively involved in running a stall or two at the Fete – Roll-a-ball; Golf Putting; Guess number of sweets in the jar.
