The Pavilion is situated at the end of the village and the High Street alongside the Children’s playground and large sports field.

The Pavilion has a spacious function room, a well equipped kitchen and toilet facilities. There is wheelchair access and car parking.

You can hire the Pavilion at very reasonable rates for parties, quiz nights, wedding receptions, etc.

What is the Ashley Pavilion Trust?

A message from the Trustees of Ashley Pavilion.

For those new to the village, Ashley Pavilion Trust was formed in December 1994 to maintain and operate the Pavilion for the use of Ashley residents and for both non-profit-making and commercial organisations who wish to use it for their meetings or events.

The Pavilion is a popular venue for Children’s and Adults’ Parties, Fund-Raising events and for the unmissable Ashley Quiz Nights. The hall is especially popular with Art Groups who appreciate the light provided by the many windows.

Several Clubs and Groups use the Pavilion on a weekly or monthly basis and others hold meetings quarterly or annually, local bands also use the hall for their band-practice. More information about the clubs and organisations can be found elsewhere in these pages and in About Ashley, the village magazine.

As well as hearing from anyone in the village who would like to hold regular or one-off events we would like to find ways of attracting new Clubs and Organisations from outside the village and would welcome any ideas you may have.

The Trustees, most of whom represent a club or organisation, freely give their time and energy willingly, endeavouring to maintain and run the Pavilion in the best interests of the whole community. Ashley residents are fortunate to have the use of this vital village asset and it is incumbent on all of us to keep an eye on it and do whatever we can to look after it; your support of the Pavilion and for our efforts is much appreciated.

We meet on the last Friday of each month and the first item on the Agenda is the Draw for the Ashley 100 Club before we get down to more serious business, discussing matters such as security measures, health and safety issues, insurance costs, on-going maintenance, proposed refurbishments, and the all-important financial position.

Ashley 100 Club is the village lottery, with monthly prizes of £30.00, £20.00 and £10.00. The funds raised by the annual 100 Club subscriptions are used to help support and maintain the Pavilion. As well as the generous monthly prizes, 100 Club Members are entitled to a one-off £5.00 reduction when hiring the Pavilion for a private function and from time to time we hold a social evening to say thank you to the Members. As you can see, Membership makes complete sense! There are still one or two numbers available for anyone who would like to join this select club.

Pavillion hire charges

  • Wedding reception/All day function – £150.00
  • Daytime parties prior to 6.00 p.m. – £10.00 per hour
  • Evening parties between 6.00 p.m. and 11.45 p.m. – £15.00 per hour
  • Not-for-profit community organisations – £8.50 per hour
  • Commercial organisations and individuals – At the discretion of The Trustees

N.B. Setting-up and clearing away times are to be included in the letting period.

There is a minimum booking period of 2 hours. Full payment is to be made prior to letting

Parties may be subject to an additional refundable deposit at time of booking.

There is a single £5.00 reduction on all private lettings for Members of The 100 Club.

Cancellations: Booking Fees to be refunded if given more than one week’s notice.

The Trust holds both a PRS and a PPL Licence. The Hirer is responsible for obtaining their own PPL Licence which is required if music is used during any profit-making activity. The Hirer is also responsible for obtaining any Licence necessary for the Sale of Alcohol. The Trust’s permission for the sale of alcohol must be sought in advance of the application.

For safety reasons Hirers are asked to familiarise themselves with the Emergency Procedure and the instructions for the use of Fire-fighting Equipment and to refer the Check List for Hirers at the beginning and end of each session. These documents are displayed on the Notice Board in the Main Hall. The complete Risk Assessments dossier can be found in the bar area to the right of the Fire Door at the North end of the building. The Hirer’s signature on this Booking Form indicates compliance with the above.

Conditions of hire

  • The Hirer must be over 21 years of age.
  • Any function to be attended by under-18 year-olds must be adequately supervised by a responsible adult.
  • Any decorations must be attached to the wooden frieze around the top of the walls and not to the painted wall in order to avoid damage to paintwork.
  • The building is to be left in a clean and tidy condition. All rubbish to be disposed of by the hirer.
  • The Deposit will be refunded after inspection of the building. A sum may be retained to cover the cost of any cleaning or repairs to any damage. If such repairs exceed the amount of the deposit then the Hirer will be liable for the balance.
  • NO PARTY BOOKINGS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT LESS THAN SEVEN DAYS NOTICE.
  • Bookings accepted at the discretion of The Trustees.
  • ACCEPTANCE OF THE ABOVE TERMS IS A CONDITION OF LETTING.
